Xiaoshu “X” Gurov is an Aerial Silks Instructor teaching aerial students to live happier, healthier, perform and tell a great story.
X discovered pole fitness in 2011. Pole showed her a fun aspect of fitness and opened the door to the wonderful worlds of circus. Trained in multiple disciplines of circus fitness, she is fond of the systematic training method that gradually builds up muscle strength, improves flexibility and enhances coordination.
Among all disciplines, she fell in love most with the tensile strength and elasticity of the aerial fabrics. She is especially attracted to the theoretical and brainy side of aerial fabrics. The process to create a drop sequence is more like solving a scientific riddle than simply putting together a series of physical movements.
Her ultimate goals are to train to a have happier, healthier body, and to perform and tell a great story.
When she is not all tangled up upside down in the air, she is a lab rat and would like to have a go at this whole curing cancer thing.
How She Got Started:
I discovered pole fitness in 2011 through a random Groupon purchase with friends. Pole fitness opened the door to the wonderful worlds of circus.
Circus showed me fun yet theoretical aspects of fitness.
Continue to learn. To know and understand the people and the apparatus.
Teaching is solving scientific riddles utilizing ‘fabric theories’. The results are fulfilling.
